Snorkeling in 2 Cenotes Private Tour

If you love snorkeling, our Cenotes private tour should be on top of your bucket list for your holidays in the Riviera Maya. Are you ready for an unique experience?

Some of the most fascinating natural wonders of the Riviera Maya are its cenotes, beautiful underground caverns formed by rainwater eroding limestone over centuries. Since there are so few rivers and lakes throughout the Yucatán Peninsula, these sources of fresh water were especially important and sacred to the ancient Maya.

Enjoy a smooth and immersive experience with private transportation, flexible timing, and your own snorkeling guide.

Best Cenote Tour Options in the Riviera Maya

Our all-inclusive cenote private tour invites you to join us in the exploration of two different cenotes, which you can pick from the list below. No two cenotes are alike – some are closed caves, while others are open, and they all have different geologic features, often including breathtaking stalactites and stalagmites. No matter which two you choose, you’re sure to have a memorable experience and fun!

Cenotes to Choose for Your Adventure

Cenote Nicte Ha: Swim into the clear waters and discover a hidden jungle paradise, where you can snorkel and marvel at beautiful lily flowers and playful schools of small fish. With a small cave that overlooks the entrance to the underground river.

Cenote Jaguar: Embark on an exhilarating adventure! Cliff jumping and zip line await you. A captivating open-air cenote surrounded by lush vegetation, where you can also easily access and swim.

Casa Cenote: a hidden gem mixing fresh water and the Caribbean Sea, where you can swim and snorkel through its mangrove channels and spot lots of schools of fish and birds.

Cenote Taak bi Ha: a small natural cave cenote nestled in the heart of the Mayan jungle, Swim and snorkel to marvel at stunning stalactites and stalagmites.

Cenote Dos Ojos: Venture into the fascinating Cenote Dos Ojos, renowned for its breathtaking cave system, offering a unique snorkeling experience amid impressive stalactites and a vibrant ecosystem . We won’t miss the Bat Cave (if water level allow the access)!

Cenote Eden Garden: Known for its natural beauty, this open-air cenote offers clear turquoise waters surrounded by lush greenery, creating a serene and picturesque environment for visitors to enjoy swimming and snorkeling. (this cenote is closed on Saturdays)

Yal Ku Lagoon: The lagoon’s interface with the ocean results in an intermingling of fresh and saltwater. There is abundant marine life visible, including many varieties of small colorful fish. The mangroves are particularly impressive and worth viewing. Their ecological importance and natural beauty make them a highlight of the area.

Cenote Pet Cemetery (Sac Actun): Step into the eerie realm of the Pet Cemetery, an intriguing cenote adorned with mystical rock formations and a hauntingly beautiful atmosphere, inviting you to unravel its mysterious tales while enjoying a memorable swim in its tranquil waters (there is an extra cost per person if you select this cenote).

Why you’ll love it:

  • All Gear Provided – Enjoy a hassle-free experience with high-quality snorkeling equipment, life vests, wetsuits included—no extra costs

Just Magical -Do Not Miss This Excursion – 2 adults and 4 children (8-14 years)
We took 4 children ages 8-14 and 2 adults to the Dos Ojos plus 1 other Cenote and lunch excursion with our guide Alex and driver Omar. We were picked up from our Villa in Tulum in a nice van. All equipment was provided and in great condition, our guide Alex was with us every step of the way. He swam with our kids with a life ring and made us as parent feel very calm and relaxed. They fitted all the kids with the correct life jackets and snorkel gear.
Each senote is different and special in its own way. The water was very nice and the temperature perfect. The trip lasted (from pic up to drop off) about 5 hours and was perfect for the kids.
We had a great lunch at a local Mayan restaurant (food included) and did not feel rushed at all.
Thank you to Alex and Omar for taking such good care of our children, we hope to see you all again.

    Thanks again, Joshua & Rodrigo!

  8. Brenna

We booked this tour as our only excursion on our vacation and it did not disappoint. Juan was amazing. He helped us pick the cenotes that would allow us to see the variety. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about when to go and where to see all the spectacular views. Enrique got us there safely and the restaurant at the end was amazing!! Definitely book with this company.

  9. Shaber

    Wonderful and unique experience!
The 2 cenotes we visited were each quite different and both remarkable -one open air with lilypads and the other underground.. Neither was crowded or touristy. They were really beautiful snd so unique! Perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Our guide Joshua was awesome. He was very informative and fun to talk to. Highly recommend!

We did the 2 cenotes tour with Juan. His dedication to highlighting the natural beauty and ecological diversity of Mexico is truly commendable. His passion and expertise have really enriched my knowledge about the cenotes.

  11. Carina

My boyfriend and I had an amazing time during our 2 Cenote day tour with Juan and our lovely driver Omar! Juan was very knowledgeable about the cenotes and ensured we had them all to ourselves (or mostly to ourselves) by getting there early. He was a really fun guide and even helped take some photos of us in and around the cenotes. We really loved the bat cave at Dos Ojos 😀 Absolute Adventure was even able to cater the tour to us by taking us to a specific cenote we wanted to see, but wasn’t on their usual list of cenote options. Thanks for making our trip so memorable!

  12. dhakshig

    Excellent tour and service
My partner and I went on a private tour to two cenotes (Dos Ojos and Nicte He) in the Tulum area. Arturo was our guide, and Omar provided transport. The tour was expensive, but the personalised service was excellent. Arturo and Omar picked us up from our accommodation on time, and were mindful of our time constraints when planning the tour. Arturo is a friendly, knowledgeable and articulate guide, and was very patient and encouraging with me (I’m still learning how to swim). The gear provided was of a good quality, and we enjoyed the lunch that was provided. We also appreciated being able to go to the cenotes when they weren’t busy. In fact, it was just us at Dos Ojos, which was an amazing experience. We would highly recommend this tour.

  13. Sofie

Arturo’s expertise and attention to detail made the trip truly special. We had a wonderful time on our tour.

  14. Simon

Really good service, pick up and drop off with lunch thrown in. Our guide Alex was extremely knowledgable about the Cenotes and Mayan culture and we learnt a lot. Thank you for a great morning, and well worth the early start to have the Cenotes pretty much all to ourselves!

  15. Stephanie

Pick this tour! Best way to see the Cenotes!
This tour exceeded all expectations. Joshua was friendly, polite and very knowledgeable. The pace of the tour was perfect, we did not feel rushed or pushed along. The private tour is definitely the way to go. We learned so much during our time. Thank you Carlos for getting us there and back safely! A truly delightful tour. Definitely recommend!

  16. Sheryl

Alex has the BEST personality – he made everyone in our group feel instantly comfortable. His energy and friendliness really took our experience to the next level. If you want to fall in love with Tulum, Alex is hands down the guide to go with. Our tour with him was the highlights of our trip!

  17. Gloria

    A beautiful time in Mexico
We had a beautiful time in the cenotes, it is my favourite memory of our Cancun trip! We went to Nicte Ha, it was a small gem but so lush with water lilies and baby fish. And then we went to Taak Bi Ha which was a very cool cave. The pickup was very smooth, both the driver and our guide Alex were so kind and made sure we were safe. Highly recommend doing a tour here.

  18. Leslie

Had an amazing time on this tour. They were super flexible with us and were very accommodating with our group. The cenotes were beautiful and we had a wonderful Mexican lunch afterwards. Would highly recommend this tour, it was a great experience.

  19. Pepe C

Juan was a fantastic guide for our trip. He was informative, fun, and entertaining and extremely knowledgeable about the cenotes and surrounding areas. I could not recommend this group more highly

  20. Paula

An amazing experience that we will never forget!!!
Absolutely amazing experience. Can’t recommend them enough. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. It was private which made the experience even better. The lunch was one of the best meals we had on our entire trip to Tulum. Highly recommend to everyone to book with this company. Just when you think you have seen the most beautiful locations they surprise you with more. It’s an experience my partner and I will never forget.

Really good service, pick up and drop off with lunch thrown in. Our guide Alex was extremely knowledgable about the Cenotes and Mayan culture and we learnt a lot. Thank you for a great morning, and well worth the early start to have the Cenotes pretty much all to ourselves!

FAQ 2 Cenotes Private Tour

Is the 2 Cenotes tour private or shared?
This is a private tour, just for you and your group.

You’ll have a dedicated guide and vehicle all to yourselves—no crowds, no waiting, just a smooth and personalized experience.

Is the driver also the guide?
No. The driver and guide are two different professionals. All our tours include a dedicated driver and a separate certified guide.  While some companies offer a guide-driver, we believe this is not safe. Having a driver focused solely on the road and a guide fully dedicated to our guests ensures a safer and higher-quality experience.
How long does a private 2 Cenotes tour take?
Please check the full itinerary in the “Itinerary” tab for more details.

It typically lasts between 4 to 6 hours, depending on your hotel location and how much time you’d like to spend at each site.

Is transportation included from my hotel or Airbnb?

Yes, round-trip transportation is included from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, and Akumal. We’ll pick you up right from your hotel, resort, or Airbnb for a stress-free start to your day.

Please note: we don’t offer pick up from Cancun Playa Mujeres hotels unless your group has 6 or more adults.

What vehicles do you use for your tours?
We offer a range of modern, air-conditioned vans to suit the size of your group and ensure a safe and comfortable journey. Visit our fleet page for more details.
Can I change the pick up time?

Yes, you’re welcome to choose your preferred pick-up time when booking.

That said, we recommend an early morning start to help you beat the crowds, skip the traffic, and enjoy cooler temperatures—it really makes a difference!

Is snorkeling experience required for this tour?

No previous snorkeling experience is required, but basic swimming skills are necessary.

We provide mandatory life vests, and our guide ensures a safe and comfortable experience for everyone.

Which cenote do we visit on this tour?
Choose Your Cenote: Open, Semi-Open, or Cave

You can view the list of cenotes available for this tour under the ‘Tour Description and General Info’ tab, where you'll also find links to full descriptions of each cenote.

Unless you've already made your choice, you can decide which cenote to visit together with your tour guide on the day of your tour.

Are cenotes cold? Are they easy to access?

No, cenotes aren’t too cold—they stay at a refreshing 75–79°F (24–26°C) year-round, which is perfect for a swim.

Most cenotes have easy access with platforms and just a few steps to get in and out comfortably.

Do we have to wear wetsuits?

No, wetsuits are not mandatory. Only life vests are required for safety.

We do provide wetsuits if you would like extra comfort, especially if you find the water chilly. Wearing a wetsuit can also help you stay in the water longer without getting cold.

Are there showers or changing rooms at the cenotes?

Yes. Facilities include clean showers, restrooms, and changing areas.

What should I bring for the tour? Where can I leave my belongings?
Check the "What to bring" tab on the tour page for the full packing list.

Be sure to bring the essentials: swimwear, a towel, and flip-flops/sandals.

You can safely leave your belongings in the van—our driver stays with it the entire time while you're out enjoying the activities.

Are vegetarian or special dietary meals available?

Yes, we’re happy to accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary needs or allergies.

After booking, you can let us know your needs by filling out the check-in form—just follow the link in your booking confirmation email.

What is the cancellation policy?
Go ahead and plan with confidence—your booking is fully flexible!

You can cancel free of charge or reschedule (subject to availability) up to 24 hours before your tour.

We’re a small team and often fully booked 1–2 weeks in advance, so we recommend booking early to secure your spot.

Bonus: if you book at least 2 months in advance (60 days), you’ll qualify for our early bird discount*!
