Snorkeling in 2 Cenotes Private Tour

If you love snorkeling, our Cenotes private tour should be on top of your bucket list for your holidays in the Riviera Maya. Are you ready for an unique experience?

Some of the most fascinating natural wonders of the Riviera Maya are its cenotes, beautiful underground caverns formed by rainwater eroding limestone over centuries. Since there are so few rivers and lakes throughout the Yucatán Peninsula, these sources of fresh water were especially important and sacred to the ancient Maya.

Enjoy a smooth and immersive experience with private transportation, flexible timing, and your own snorkeling guide.

Best Cenote Tour Options in the Riviera Maya

Our all-inclusive cenote private tour invites you to join us in the exploration of two different cenotes, which you can pick from the list below. No two cenotes are alike – some are closed caves, while others are open, and they all have different geologic features, often including breathtaking stalactites and stalagmites. No matter which two you choose, you’re sure to have a memorable experience and fun!

Cenotes to Choose for Your Adventure

Cenote Nicte Ha: Swim into the clear waters and discover a hidden jungle paradise, where you can snorkel and marvel at beautiful lily flowers and playful schools of small fish. With a small cave that overlooks the entrance to the underground river.

Cenote Jaguar: Embark on an exhilarating adventure! Cliff jumping and zip line await you. A captivating open-air cenote surrounded by lush vegetation, where you can also easily access and swim.

Casa Cenote: a hidden gem mixing fresh water and the Caribbean Sea, where you can swim and snorkel through its mangrove channels and spot lots of schools of fish and birds.

Cenote Taak bi Ha: a small natural cave cenote nestled in the heart of the Mayan jungle, Swim and snorkel to marvel at stunning stalactites and stalagmites.

Cenote Dos Ojos: Venture into the fascinating Cenote Dos Ojos, renowned for its breathtaking cave system, offering a unique snorkeling experience amid impressive stalactites and a vibrant ecosystem . We won’t miss the Bat Cave (if water level allow the access)!

Cenote Eden Garden: Known for its natural beauty, this open-air cenote offers clear turquoise waters surrounded by lush greenery, creating a serene and picturesque environment for visitors to enjoy swimming and snorkeling. (this cenote is closed on Saturdays)

Yal Ku Lagoon: The lagoon’s interface with the ocean results in an intermingling of fresh and saltwater. There is abundant marine life visible, including many varieties of small colorful fish. The mangroves are particularly impressive and worth viewing. Their ecological importance and natural beauty make them a highlight of the area.

Cenote Pet Cemetery (Sac Actun): Step into the eerie realm of the Pet Cemetery, an intriguing cenote adorned with mystical rock formations and a hauntingly beautiful atmosphere, inviting you to unravel its mysterious tales while enjoying a memorable swim in its tranquil waters (there is an extra cost per person if you select this cenote).

Why you’ll love it:

  • All Gear Provided – Enjoy a hassle-free experience with high-quality snorkeling equipment, life vests, wetsuits included—no extra costs
  • Expert Private Guide – A certified snorkeling guide stays with you throughout the tour, adapting the pace and support to suit your comfort and skill level.
  • Beginner-Friendly Waters – Cenotes are a safe and relaxing environment, perfect for first-timers and seasoned snorkelers alike.

    Best nature adventure ever
The cenotes are one of the most incredible things I’ve seen on earth. Could not recommend more. Such a magnificent display of nature. Intimate tour with no crowds. And our tour guide Juan made was so wonderful, capturing our memories, sharing the history of land, and engaging in wonderful, thoughtful conversation about nature & life. Book now, you won’t regret.

  2. Kathy

    Amazing experience!
This private tour was amazing! Private tours are the way to go! They picked us up from our hotel and drove us an hour to the first cenote. We chose Dos Ojos and Pet Cemetery. Both were a gorgeous and unique experience. There was no pressure and we were able to take our time. Our guide Arturo and his trainee Christina were the best! We can’t forget our driver Rodrigo as well and his heavy metal music! They were all accommodating, very knowledgeable, and so friendly! The sites and sounds and almost near privacy were exceptional! Lunch was also included and tasty. Our guides ate with us and it was perfect getting to know all about them! 10/10 recommend!

  3. domlarosa

Great customer service experience and tour
We were originally supposed to go on the turtle snorkeling and one cenote, but were informed the day before the weather would prevent seeing the turtles. I appreciated they offered both a refund option and also something we could do instead. Was so glad we choose to do two cenotes! They were beautiful and they are so different from each other. Juan was great! A pleasure to spend the day with and went out of his way to make our time special.

  4. Chantal

BUCKET LIST CENOTES ADVENTURE! Our guide Joshua and our driver Alex gave us an experience that was unforgettable. This private tour is highly recommended! Both cenotes were spectacular (Taak Bi Ha and Pet Cemetery) and by being there first thing in the morning, we had the whole cenote to ourselves which we loved. Joshua was extremely informative; presenting at key moments but also allowing us to enjoy the silence and serenity the cenotes had to offer. They were well very organized and had all we needed (snorkel, waterproof flashlights, life jackets, drinking water). Skip the big tours and book with Absolute Adventures!

  5. Sachi

Juan was a great tour guide for our group, and accommodated our dietary restrictions for lunch – overall we really enjoyed this tour and exploring the different Cenotes caves!

  6. MSCH8001

    Amazing tour
It was absolut fantastic. We visited two cenotes. Josh our tour guide and Omar our driver did a great job. Thank you for a perfect day.

  7. Kenzie

We had an incredible time with Josh today! we booked 2 private cenote tours for 15 girls total and we went to Jaguar and Nicte Ha. Both locations were incredibly beautiful and Josh was a great guide. He was very knowledgeable and fun. We had lunch at Juanita and it was so delicious. Communication was so easy and we never had any issues. Overall, 10/10 experience and would highly highly recommend.

  8. Gary

We had an amazing experience in the Pet Cemetery and Taak Bi Ha cenotes. We arrive early and were the only ones exploring the Pet Cemetery. It was a magical experience! Our guide Arturo was the best! About an hour swimming in the caves thru a few chambers. It was the highlight of our Akumal trip! Highly recommended!

  9. Mel

We went to 2 different Cenotes with Juan; Cenote Nichte-Ha and Pet Cemetery, they were absolutely incredible and the best day of our week vacation. Juan was amazing, knowledgable and overall super chill and cool to talk to! We went to Juanitas for food in the jungle and it was also delicious and overall the mexican restaurant vibe we were looking for. If you are looking for a great experience in mexico, I really wouldnt look any further. Until next time!!

  10. Safari56017694987

Best Private Cenote Tours in the Yucatan!
This was our second tour with Absolute Adventure and it won’t be our last! Once again they went above and beyond. We added snorkeling with turtles to our cenotes package and even with that we were back to our hotel before 3pm. Our guide Alex was just as knowledgeable about Tulum and the cenotes as he was about Chichen Itza. We ziplined at one of the cenotes and had the entire place to ourselves! Highly recommended!

  11. Cory

We booked a 2 Cenote tour during our vacation in Rivieria Maya. Claire was great in getting thing set up and was very flexible in landing, including adjusting our departure time and picking up 2 seperate groups from 2 different resorts. Our driver Rodrigo was on time and we had no transportation issues l. Our Guide Josh “Mr Guide” was amazing. He was friendly patient informative and volunteered as our photographer whole we enjoyed the 2 Cenotes. The private tour meant that we worked out on our schedule and the lunch was Amazing!
    I would definitely book again!

  12. Janet

    A repeat for sure!
Arturo our guide and Enrique our driver were fantastic. Arturo was very helpful with our 3 person group that included 1 person who has vision problems, 1 person who doesn’t swim, and 1 person who loves adventure. He took care of all of us! He explained the options and we picked the 2 that fit our group best. He led us through the cave and explained how it evolved along with how it is connected to 250 Cenotes.
Because we went early we had the two Cenotes to ourselves until just when we were ready to leave.
I will use this group again and book more private tours.

  13. Al

Our guide, Arturo, and driver, Enrique, were fantastic! I have vision issues and Arturo was very supportive helping me navigate to and from the cenotes. He was also amazing as our guide through the closed cenote we visited. Highly recommend them if planning a visit!!!

  14. Kirk

Had an amazing experience on the half-day 2 cenote tour! The cenotes were absolutely stunning, and everything was so well-organized. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable, making the experience even more enjoyable. All the equipment was in excellent condition, and safety was clearly a priority. We felt well taken care of from start to finish. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun and refreshing adventure! 5 stars!

  15. BoardingPass

    Wonderful experience!
We really enjoyed this private tour. We decided to book through Absolute Adventure rather than our cruise ship and they did not disappoint. We were in constant communication and they answered any questions we had. The private tour is also flexible. We had to change the number of people joining this tour and they were great in helping us make this change. Additionally, we had limited time for this tour since we were coming with a cruise ship. They were very timely and organized and we made it back with plenty of time to spare. Our guide, Arturo, was great – very knowledgable and friendly. We got to see two cenotes: Dos Ojos and Jaguar. They were both absolutely breathtaking. I would definitely recommend this tour company!

  16. Animal Lover

I chose this company for its excellent reviews, and I am thrilled to add another one for them. We chose two cenotes, one that included the zip lining and Cenote Sac Actun (aka pet cemetery). The zip-lining was very short but great for a 1st timer, like me. Sac Actun is incredible and cold, but beautiful. Thankfully the company had wetsuits for us. Most of all, hands down to Alex, our amazing guide. He is so knowledgeable and really takes ownership of his work. He was also very kind, professional, and accommodating. I highly recommend Absolute Adventures for your excursions in Mexico. Best of all, they pick you up and drop you off at your hotel, unlike other companies, that require you to meet a specific location, which could be an hour away depending on your location. Lastly, our tour ended at a unique restaurant nestled in the jungle, with freshly made food, not a buffet. The staff was incredible. The food was delicious. We truly enjoyed our private tour!
We haven’t uploaded our sac actun photos from our GoPro yet, but you can google image the cenote, and see its beauty. But it’s worth seeing in person. Otherwise, here are our pics from the zip line and lunch.
And thank you, Claire (owner), for all your wonderful communication. We’d definitely utilize your services again and highly recommend you to others.

  17. Brittany

Our tour was wonderful and so were our tour guides! One of the best tours we’ve ever had in this area! Everything went amazing.
Both of those cenotes were very cool and so fun to see! We had a great time.
I want to express to you how wonderful both our tour guides were too! So kind and helpful the entire day!
Overall we had a great day with our wedding group! Thank you, Brittany

  18. Laura

Arturo and our driver were absolutely the best. Their knowledge of the area and different cenotes went above and beyond our expectations. We felt very safe and truly enjoyed all aspects of our tour, and don’t pass up on the lunch- that was also excellent!

  19. Justin

    Amazing Cenotes
The tour was incredible. Our guide Arturo, was very knowledgeable, accommodating, and super friendly. Cenotes were incredible, and we were treated to an excellent lunch
    afterwards. 10/10. Would definitely recommend.

  20. Hannah

Glad we accidentally stumbled upon this tour. We asked our hotel concierge if they could only we could only visit one cenotes which should be do and she said Taak Bi Ha. Booked this one based on reviews, and it was amazing.
Joshua is very knowledgeable and passionate about nature and sharing its history with you. This tour was private, and since we went first thing we were pretty much the only ones there! We we literally the first to arrive at both cenotes. Task Bi Ha opened later than Nicte Ha so they really plan it out perfectly. Lunch was very good, and all locations beautiful.
Don’t forget tip is not included just like all tours.

5 stars!

FAQ 2 Cenotes Private Tour

Is the 2 Cenotes tour private or shared?
This is a private tour, just for you and your group.

You’ll have a dedicated guide and vehicle all to yourselves—no crowds, no waiting, just a smooth and personalized experience.

Is the driver also the guide?
No. The driver and guide are two different professionals. All our tours include a dedicated driver and a separate certified guide.  While some companies offer a guide-driver, we believe this is not safe. Having a driver focused solely on the road and a guide fully dedicated to our guests ensures a safer and higher-quality experience.
How long does a private 2 Cenotes tour take?
Please check the full itinerary in the “Itinerary” tab for more details.

It typically lasts between 4 to 6 hours, depending on your hotel location and how much time you’d like to spend at each site.

Is transportation included from my hotel or Airbnb?

Yes, round-trip transportation is included from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, and Akumal. We’ll pick you up right from your hotel, resort, or Airbnb for a stress-free start to your day.

Please note: we don’t offer pick up from Cancun Playa Mujeres hotels unless your group has 6 or more adults.

What vehicles do you use for your tours?
We offer a range of modern, air-conditioned vans to suit the size of your group and ensure a safe and comfortable journey. Visit our fleet page for more details.
Can I change the pick up time?

Yes, you’re welcome to choose your preferred pick-up time when booking.

That said, we recommend an early morning start to help you beat the crowds, skip the traffic, and enjoy cooler temperatures—it really makes a difference!

Is snorkeling experience required for this tour?

No previous snorkeling experience is required, but basic swimming skills are necessary.

We provide mandatory life vests, and our guide ensures a safe and comfortable experience for everyone.

Which cenote do we visit on this tour?
Choose Your Cenote: Open, Semi-Open, or Cave

You can view the list of cenotes available for this tour under the ‘Tour Description and General Info’ tab, where you'll also find links to full descriptions of each cenote.

Unless you've already made your choice, you can decide which cenote to visit together with your tour guide on the day of your tour.

Are cenotes cold? Are they easy to access?

No, cenotes aren’t too cold—they stay at a refreshing 75–79°F (24–26°C) year-round, which is perfect for a swim.

Most cenotes have easy access with platforms and just a few steps to get in and out comfortably.

Do we have to wear wetsuits?

No, wetsuits are not mandatory. Only life vests are required for safety.

We do provide wetsuits if you would like extra comfort, especially if you find the water chilly. Wearing a wetsuit can also help you stay in the water longer without getting cold.

Are there showers or changing rooms at the cenotes?

Yes. Facilities include clean showers, restrooms, and changing areas.

What should I bring for the tour? Where can I leave my belongings?
Check the "What to bring" tab on the tour page for the full packing list.

Be sure to bring the essentials: swimwear, a towel, and flip-flops/sandals.

You can safely leave your belongings in the van—our driver stays with it the entire time while you're out enjoying the activities.

Are vegetarian or special dietary meals available?

Yes, we’re happy to accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary needs or allergies.

After booking, you can let us know your needs by filling out the check-in form—just follow the link in your booking confirmation email.
