We do not operate cars or SUVs where the driver is also the guide. We believe combining both roles is not safe: long driving hours followed by walking, swimming, and guiding can lead to fatigue and reduced attention on the road. Your driver focuses solely on driving, while your certified guide remains fully dedicated to you.
Our private-tour vehicles.
Our tours are exclusively private: transportation is never shared and includes only your group, your guide, and your driver.
Vehicles are assigned according to group size and availability at the time of booking. For groups larger than 14 people, we use multiple vans to provide adequate capacity, comfort, and safety.
Volkswagen Passenger
Designed for private tours, the VW Transporter accommodates 6 passengers in the rear and includes air conditioning throughout the vehicle, with the guide and driver in the front row.
Toyota Hiace
The Toyota Hiace provides 10 rear passenger seats, a fully air-conditioned cabin, and front seating for the guide and driver, making it ideal for private group transportation.
Nissan Urvan
With 12 seats in the back, the Nissan Urvan combines generous interior space and full air conditioning for a smooth and private touring experience.
JAC Minibus
Built for larger private groups, the JAC Minibus features 14 passenger seats in the rear, air conditioning throughout, and a layout suited for comfortable full-day tours.

Touring with kids?
Our fleet is fully equipped to accommodate families traveling with children.
Car seats are mandatory for infants. If you do not bring your own, we can provide an appropriate infant or child car seat upon request. We also have booster seats available for older children.
Request car seats or boosters when booking your tour so our team can confirm and prepare the appropriate equipment in advance.
Large private-group transportation.
We can accommodate large private groups of 15 to 50+ guests. For most tours, multiple vans provide greater comfort and flexibility, direct hotel pickups, and easier access to remote locations.
Bus transportation may be available for very large groups, but access and pickup restrictions apply, and booking terms are less flexible. Our team will recommend the best option for your group size, itinerary, and logistics.

- Many jungle cenotes cannot be reached by bus.
- Some pickup areas, including downtown Playa del Carmen and the Tulum Hotel Zone, restrict bus access. A taxi or shuttle to a designated meeting point may be required.
- Bus bookings have stricter terms for changes, timing, and cancellation than minivan operations.

Are the vehicles air-conditioned?
Yes. All our vehicles are fully air-conditioned.
Is the driver also the guide?
No. The driver and guide are two different professionals. While some companies offer a guide-driver, we believe this is not safe. The driver’s sole responsibility is to focus on the road, while your certified guide is dedicated to your experience, available at all times to explain, answer questions, and interact with you.
Can we leave our belongings in the vehicle during the tour?
Yes. You can safely leave your belongings in the van. Our driver stays with the vehicle at all times while you are visiting sites or enjoying activities.
Can we bring our own drinks and food?
Yes. We provide a cooler in the vehicle with water and sodas. Beers can be pre-ordered at the time of booking. If you bring additional drinks, they must be in plastic bottles or cans. Glass containers are not allowed. Snacks should be easy to eat and suitable for a moving vehicle.
Is there Wi-Fi in the vehicle?
No. We do not offer onboard Wi-Fi. However, mobile coverage is generally good in the region, and eSIMs are an easy and affordable option if you need data during your trip.
Do you provide baby seats or booster seats?
Yes. Baby car seats and booster seats are available upon request and must be requested in advance when booking your tour.
Can we bring a stroller or wheelchair?
Foldable strollers and wheelchairs are usually possible, but they must be declared at the time of booking. Depending on size and group composition, a larger vehicle may be required and an additional cost may apply.
Are your vehicles insured and legal for tourist transportation?
Yes. All vehicles are fully insured and comply with Mexican tourist transportation regulations.
Are the vehicles cleaned between tours?
Yes. All vehicles are thoroughly cleaned before and after each tour.
What rules must we follow inside the vehicle?
We kindly ask guests to help keep the vehicle clean and in good condition. Please do not put feet on the seats and use a towel on the seat if your clothes are wet. Smoking is strictly prohibited. An extra cleaning fee of USD 25 will be charged if the van is left excessively dirty and requires additional cleaning or deodorizing, including spills, vomit, sunscreen, stains, or unpleasant odors.
Are seat belts required during transportation?
Yes. Seat belts are mandatory for all passengers at all times during transportation, in accordance with safety regulations.
Are the seats inclinable?
Yes, some vehicles have inclinable (reclining) seats. Availability depends on the vehicle assigned for your tour date and group size. If this matters for your comfort, let us know when booking and we will check availability. An additional cost may apply.
What happens if we forget personal items in the van?
Absolute Adventure is not responsible for items forgotten in the vehicle or at any location visited during the tour. If an item is found, we can arrange its return, and delivery back to your hotel will be charged accordingly.
Can we make extra stops or change the itinerary during the tour?
According to Mexican tourist transportation law, we are only authorized to drive you to locations officially included in your booked itinerary. Additional stops must be requested before the tour so they can be added to the itinerary and transportation permits. Extra costs may apply and will be communicated for approval in advance.
Can you pick up and drop off at different locations?
Yes. Pickup and drop-off at different locations are possible. Additional costs may apply depending on distance. If you are bringing luggage, a larger vehicle may be required and may also involve an additional cost.
Can you drop us off at the Cancun airport after the tour?
Yes, Cancun airport drop-off after a tour can be arranged. Additional costs may apply for the airport drop-off and, if you have luggage, for a larger vehicle. While we plan timing carefully, we are not responsible for delays caused by traffic, road conditions, vehicle issues, or unforeseen incidents that could result in a missed flight.
Do you offer airport pickup?
No. Our fleet is not licensed for airport pickups, so we are unable to collect guests directly from the airport.
Why is there a camera inside the vehicle?
Vehicles are equipped with a camera for safety purposes only. We are committed to protecting your privacy and rights. Video footage is used solely as evidence in the event of a road incident and is not used for any other purpose.
