Tequila Tasting

Get ready to sample 6 different types of Tequila and Mezcal, and learn the difference between the two. Learn how they are made as part of this fun experience and feel free to ask questions. Will you prefer Blanco, Reposado, Anejo or Extra Anejo Tequila? You can also taste Mezcal as you enjoy this educational tour. Learn plenty of fun facts about Tequila from your private guide so you’ll know exactly what to bring back home or order from local shops.

Tulum Ruins or Cenote Swim before the tasting

On the way to the Tequila tasting location, you can visit the Tulum Ruins with your guide or Explore, swim and snorkel in a nearby cenote. Cenotes are spring-fed pools in natural sinkholes and are a must-see as part of your Yucatan vacation.

  • Tequila tasting: Tour opened from 5 year olds. Only adults (more than 18yo) can participate to the Tequila tasting.
    This tour is an educational tequila tour with tasting. It’s not about drinking tequila like you might in a bar.

  • Swimming: Basic swimming skills required. This excursion suits everyone from novices to experts.
    • Cenote tequila Tour: The day of your tour, you can choose one cenote between Jaguar, Nicte Ha, Taak bi Ha or Dos Ojos.

      Your guide will be happy to help you to select the best cenote for you and your party according to your expectations and snorkeling skills.

    • Ruins: In case you bring a go pro camera, a video camera or a phone with a selfie stick, there is a 50 pesos (less than 3USD) per device charged at the entrance of each archeological site, to be paid in pesos (INAH tax) – Drones and Tripods for video/cameras are forbidden.

Our tours are scheduled at the best hours to avoid high traffic and heat on the sites.

Cenote and Tequila Tasting tour:
09:00am: Private transportation from your hotel to the jungle
10:00am – 11:00am: Swim and snorkel in cenote
11:00am – 01:30pm: Lunch in a restaurant, Tequila tasting and chill time.
01:30pm – 02:30pm: Transportation to your hotel

Tulum ruins and Tequila Tasting tour:
07:00am: Private transportation from your hotel to Tulum ruins

Itinerary is based on a departure from Playa del Carmen.
Pick up time is recommended time to avoid the crowds. We can leave later if you want to.

What to bring

  • Swimsuit and beach towel
  • Comfortable shoes and light clothes to visit the ruins
  • Flip flops or water shoes for swimming activities
  • Hat or cap and sunglasses
  • Rashguard or Biodegradable sunscreen. We recommend wearing a rashguard. With a rashguard, you’ll enjoy sun protection throughout the day as you won’t need to reapply sunscreen where you’re covered, also this protects natural environment, not to pollute water and species of the cenote.
  • Biodegradable mosquito repellent
  • Camera/Underwater camera
  • Cash for souvenirs/tips

You can bring personal belongings you require during the tour (phone, camera, extra set of clothes…). While you are visiting or snorkeling you can leave the things you don’t need in the van. Our driver will always be in the van, so keeping your things safe!

    We had a tequila tasting and swam in the dos ojos cenote. Everything was amazing and beautiful. Our tour guide Arturo was very knowledgeable of the cenote and bat cave we got to explore, and the tequila/mezecal tasting. He gave us the freedom to take our time through the cenote and experience it, without being rushed. Also the Mexican lunch was delicious!! I would do it again and again, I had a wonderful time!

    This company is a gem! Swimming in a cenote & lunch in the jungle.
    Our tour guide Chris was so friendly and knowledgeable. We were picked up from our hotel promptly at 9 am. We had the cenote to ourselves. The lunch at Juanita’s was the best authentic food we had the entire trip.
    The tequila tasting was amazing, at least 20 bottles of tequila and mezcal to choose from. Interesting explanations and the place was very nice.
    We were back at our hotel by 2:30. We would definitely book again with this company.
