Private Snorkeling Tour in 3 Cenotes

You will never experience anything like the cenotes of the Riviera Maya. These underground bodies of water have been formed by rainwater eroding limestone over countless centuries. The Yucatán Peninsula is scarce when it comes to fresh water rendering the cenotes as crucial to the survival of the Mayan culture!

  1. Select your 3 Cenotes!

Our 3 cenotes tour is completely customizable to you. Our experienced guides will allow you to choose from the list below in which cenotes you want to swim and snorkel. No matter which cenotes you choose to experience, you will see a new attraction. No cenotes are the same and the formations and views are just as beautiful in any and all of them. We can guarantee no matter where you choose to spend your time, you’ll have an amazing experience.

Cenote Nicte Ha: Swim into the clear waters and discover a hidden jungle paradise, where you can snorkel and marvel at beautiful lily flowers and playful schools of small fish. With a small cave that overlooks the entrance to the underground river.

Cenote Jaguar: Embark on an exhilarating adventure! Cliff jumping and zip line await you. A captivating open-air cenote surrounded by lush vegetation, where you can also easily access and swim.

Casa Cenote: a hidden gem mixing fresh water and the Caribbean Sea, where you can swim and snorkel through its mangrove channels and spot lots of schools of fish and birds.

Cenote Taak bi Ha: a small natural cave cenote nestled in the heart of the Mayan jungle, Swim and snorkel to marvel at stunning stalactites and stalagmites.

Cenote Dos Ojos: Venture into the fascinating Cenote Dos Ojos, renowned for its breathtaking cave system, offering a unique snorkeling experience amid impressive stalactites and a vibrant ecosystem . We won’t miss the Bat Cave (if water level allow the access)!

Cenote Eden Garden: Known for its natural beauty, this open-air cenote offers clear turquoise waters surrounded by lush greenery, creating a serene and picturesque environment for visitors to enjoy swimming and snorkeling. (this cenote is closed on Saturdays)

Yal Ku Lagoon: The lagoon’s interface with the ocean results in an intermingling of fresh and saltwater. There is abundant marine life visible, including many varieties of small colorful fish. The mangroves are particularly impressive and worth viewing. Their ecological importance and natural beauty make them a highlight of the area.

Cenote Pet Cemetery (Sac Actun): Step into the eerie realm of the Pet Cemetery, an intriguing cenote adorned with mystical rock formations and a hauntingly beautiful atmosphere, inviting you to unravel its mysterious tales while enjoying a memorable swim in its tranquil waters (there is an extra cost per person if you select this cenote).

Cenote Chikin Ha: Swim and snorkel in an open-air cenote with lots of fish and small turtles, and a small cave cenote. At the end, we visit a cenote used for Mayan ceremonies. (there is an extra cost per person if you select this cenote, this cenote is closed on Saturdays).

THE BEST PRIVATE CENOTE TOUR!
The absolute best tour we’ve been on so far!! We went to their website and saw that we could choose 3 cenotes of our choice to visit. We had a cenote all to ourselves in the morning, and it was very private which fit our needs and speed (we wanted lots of swim time and photo opportunities). It was supposed to be a busy time, but for some reason we had great timing in most of the cenotes. Even during our visit in Dos Ojos which receives heavy traffic, we had the bat cave all to ourselves! our guide Arturo was so kind and accommodating! We had great conversations and such a great experience. I was just traveling with my brother and we did not know anything about Tulum (it’s our first time here and in Mexico), we felt safe and taken cared of the entire time. They provided us with the proper SANITIZED gear and such great insight on the cenotes and Mayan culture. The lunch was great as well. Will definitely book with them again for future private tours!!

We did the three cenotes tour with Dulce (our guide) and our driver (whose name I forgot, I'm sorry!!). It was an out of this world experience and we can't recommend it enough. The three cenotes we chose were Casa Cenote, Jaguar, and Pet Semetary. We wanted to get different experiences from each cenote and felt like these would provide that. We got started with an early visit to Casa Cenote, and being there early is worth it! Other than one other swimmer, we were the only ones on the way out, and we got to see the famous crocodile up close! The fish here are large and you can see the different layer of salt and fresh water. It was beautiful, and relaxing (other than quietly swimming past the crocodile!)

The second stop was at Jaguar, and this was definitely the more adventurous Cenote, three levels of cliff jumping (from ~1.5 meters to 5 meters), a zipline, and a little bit of exploring you can do. There isn't as much wildlife or cenote area to explore, but still a cool one to check out and add to your experience!

We stopped for lunch before our third cenote, and it was delicious! Dulce ate with us and we got to learn a bit more about her, her background, and ask questions about Mayan culture and the cenotes.

The third cenote, Pet Semetary was also incredible and very different, we got to explore a darker cave, that was connected to the massive underground river! Dulce kept us separated from other groups, so we got to enjoy the quiet and the sights all on our own.

A truly incredible experience. We felt very safe COVID wise, and we really enjoyed getting to meet Dulce and our driver. They clearly were passionate about what they do and Dulce was very knowledgeable. If you're looking for a tour group to work with we couldn't recommend Absolute Adventure more!

We booked private cenote tour and could have been happier. JJ was our guide. We went to 3 underground cenotes, and one open cenote. The colors were fabulous, the experience of snorkeling through passages made you feel like an explorer. Snorkels and flashlights provided. Lunch was great. If you have kids with solid swim skills. They will LOVE this.

We had a great tour of 3 cenotes with Juan Diaz this week. Our transportation was smooth, all equipment was provided, Juan’s advice in choosing 3 cenotes was helpful, and his guidance was fantastic. Highly recommend this tour!

We actually were taken to 3 Cenotes; all different and fabulous in their own way. We would have never found these on our own nor known the best way to see them. We are a family of 6, ranging in age from 76 to 22, and everyone was thrilled. Our tour guide, Manuel, was outstanding. We really lucked out! He knew where to take us…

We would have never found these on our own nor known the best way to see them.
We are a family of 6, ranging in age from 76 to 22, and everyone was thrilled.
Our tour guide, Manuel, was outstanding. We really lucked out! He knew where to take us to avoid crowds and give us a fabulous experience.
Friendly and informative, Manuel really put everyone at ease and made sure that we all had a fabulous time. He also had wonderful stories and facts that gave background to everything we did.
Thank you, Manuel and Absolute Adventures, for this incredible excursion!

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Your tour questions, answered.

Tour basics

Is the 3 Cenotes tour private or shared?

This is a private tour, just for you and your group.

You’ll have a dedicated guide and vehicle all to yourselves—no crowds, no waiting, just a smooth and personalized experience.

Is the driver also the guide?

No. The driver and guide are two different professionals.

All our tours include a dedicated driver and a separate certified guide.

While some companies offer a guide-driver, we believe this is not safe. Having a driver focused solely on the road and a guide fully dedicated to our guests ensures a safer and higher-quality experience.

How long does a private 3 Cenotes tour take?

Please check the full itinerary in the “Itinerary” tab for more details.

It typically lasts between 5 to 7 hours, depending on your hotel location and how much time you’d like to spend at each site.

Pickup & transport

Is transportation included from my hotel or Airbnb?

Yes, round-trip transportation is included from Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras, Akumal and Tulum. We’ll pick you up right from your hotel, resort, or Airbnb for a stress-free start to your day.

Please note: we don’t offer pick up from Cancun Playa Mujeres hotels unless your group has 6 or more adults.

What vehicles do you use for your tours?

We offer a range of modern, air-conditioned vans to suit the size of your group and ensure a safe and comfortable journey.

Visit our fleet page for more details.

Can I change the pick up time?

Yes, you’re welcome to choose your preferred pick-up time when booking.

That said, we recommend an early morning start to help you beat the crowds, skip the traffic, and enjoy cooler temperatures—it really makes a difference!

Activities & facilities

Is snorkeling experience required for this tour?

No previous snorkeling experience is required, but basic swimming skills are necessary.

We provide mandatory life vests, and our guide ensures a safe and comfortable experience for everyone.

Which cenote do we visit on this tour?

Choose Your Cenote: Open, Semi-Open, or Cave

You can view the list of cenotes available for this tour under the ‘Tour Description and General Info’ tab, where you'll also find links to full descriptions of each cenote.

Unless you've already made your choice, you can decide which cenote to visit together with your tour guide on the day of your tour.

Are cenotes cold? Are they easy to access?

No, cenotes aren’t too cold—they stay at a refreshing 75–79°F (24–26°C) year-round, which is perfect for a swim.

Most cenotes have easy access with platforms and just a few steps to get in and out comfortably.

Do we have to wear wetsuits?

No, wetsuits are not mandatory. Only life vests are required for safety.

We do provide wetsuits if you would like extra comfort, especially if you find the water chilly. Wearing a wetsuit can also help you stay in the water longer without getting cold.

Are there showers or changing rooms at the cenotes?

Yes. Facilities include clean showers, restrooms, and changing areas.

Planning & booking

What should I bring for the tour? Where can I leave my belongings?

Check the "What to bring" tab on the tour page for the full packing list.

Be sure to bring the essentials: swimwear, a towel, and flip-flops/sandals.

You can safely leave your belongings in the van—our driver stays with it the entire time while you're out enjoying the activities.

Are vegetarian or special dietary meals available?

Yes, we’re happy to accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary needs or allergies.

After booking, you can let us know your needs by filling out the check-in form—just follow the link in your booking confirmation email.

What is the cancellation policy?

Go ahead and plan with confidence—your booking is fully flexible!

You can cancel free of charge or reschedule (subject to availability) up to 24 hours before your tour.

We’re a small team and often fully booked 1–2 weeks in advance, so we recommend booking early to secure your spot.

Bonus: if you book at least 2 months in advance (60 days), you’ll qualify for our early bird discount*!
