Get ready for an unforgettable experience with our private tour of Dos Ojos cenote—a magical place near Tulum, famous for its crystal-clear waters and incredible underground world. This snorkeling tour lets you explore both "eyes" of the cenote, swim through the largest underground river system in Mexico, and enjoy a peaceful jungle lunch away from the crowds.
Dos Ojos isn’t just popular among travelers—it’s also a Hollywood favorite! This cenote has been featured in the IMAX film “Journey Into Amazing Caves”, the movie “The Cave”, and the BBC’s Planet Earth series. When you snorkel here, you're entering a world so unique it has captured the imagination of filmmakers and scientists alike.
The name “Dos Ojos” means “two eyes” in Spanish, referring to the two circular sinkholes visible from above. Each eye offers a unique snorkeling experience. On our tour, you'll visit both:
The first eye is filled with natural light and shallow areas, perfect for beginners and children. You'll admire dramatic limestone formations and see the light rays dance underwater. The second eye is darker, more mysterious, and includes areas with stunning stalactites and stalagmites. This part of the cenote is deeper and more dramatic, ideal for snorkelers looking for a more immersive cave experience.
One of the most exciting highlights of this Dos Ojos cenote tour is the Bat Cave. This hidden chamber is only accessible with a certified guide and reached by a short swim through narrow passages filled with ancient stalactites. Inside, you'll find a large dome where bats rest during the day, hanging quietly from the cave ceiling. However, please note that during the rainy season, the water level in the cenote may rise significantly. This can make the passage to the Bat Cave inaccessible or unsafe to cross.
After your underwater journey, we’ll take you to a family-run restaurant nestled in the jungle. A delicious Mexican lunch will be served, freshly prepared with local ingredients and traditional recipes. It’s the perfect moment to relax, chat with your guide, and relive the best parts of your Dos Ojos adventure surrounded by nature.
We provide everything you need for an easy and enjoyable snorkeling session. You'll receive high-quality masks, snorkels, wetsuits, life vests, and waterproof flashlights. For families, we also offer children’s gear, including small wetsuits, kid-sized life vests, and small snorkel-masks. This makes the tour safe and fun for children as young as 4 or 5 years old, as long as they are comfortable in the water and know how to swim.
Our private Dos Ojos cenote tour is designed to give you a smooth, safe, and personalized experience. We include everything: private round-trip transportation from your hotel, early arrival to avoid crowds, all entrance fees, and a certified guide who stays with your group throughout the day. You'll explore areas not accessible to regular visitors, like the Bat Cave, and have full control over your pace and comfort. This is an all-inclusive experience where every detail is taken care of—from top-grade snorkeling equipment to a peaceful jungle lunch. You don’t need to bring anything but your swimsuit and a sense of wonder.

If you are questioning a tour of any kind, don’t. The tour guide and driver to dos ojos were amazing, friendly, and made our cenote trip that much more memorable. They picked us up on time at 8 am, to our surprise, a private tour was just the two of us.
The tour was the best and we were basically the only ones there.
The food afterwards was delicious and the coconut drink, perfection.
Totally recommend and would do it again. The drive there and back was not long at all and we returned around noon. The driver stayed with our belongings while we swam and ate.

Beautiful day at Cenote Dos Ojos
Wow, just wow!! What a fantastic day we had! Arturo was a great guide, he let us enjoy the trip from start to finish. Arturo is very knowledgeable of the cenote’s history so it was really a pleasure to spend time with him today. The cenote itself is magical, an experience you can’t tell another people about… you must see it with your own “Ojos”!! Last but not least, our driver Carlos was really good too. He drives safely. Recommended.
Hannah –
Amazing trip, couldn’t recommend more. Arturo was really knowledgeable about the cenotes and took us to all the corners, including the bat cave which was the best bit and can’t be accessed without a guide. The whole process was smooth from pick up to drop off at our hotel and the lunch at the end was also delicious.
Travis –
Absolute highlight of our trip. Arturo was incredible. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The cenote was unbelievable…crystal clear water.
Harley –
Beautiful experience! We had such an amazing afternoon with Arturo! It was so great to see the cenotes and learn history. Highly recommend this company.
Tyler –
Perfect 1/2 day adventure.
Such a great excursion for a group of friends aturou was the best guide. It was the perfect amount of time and lovely to end with some yummy local eats.
Lacy –
Excellent tour! We were picked up at our place first thing in the morning and got to the cenote when there weren’t any other people. Our guide was really nice and very accommodating. He took us through the two main Cenotes and the bat caves. It’s a tight squeeze to get to bat caves but so worth it. This is my second cenote and I’m so glad I did this one! And the tour guide was great!

This was an excellent private tour and would 100% recommend to anyone visiting the Yucatán and interested in snorkeling the cenotes. Our guide, Arturo, was superb and took extremely well care of us. I am pregnant and he was so accommodating and attentive to ensure I safely enjoyed the tour. We were picked up earlier in the morning and it was just my husband and me in our group with Arturo, so it really felt like a private tour of the cenotes with hardly anyone else in the park at the time. I was a little worried about the water temperature, so they offered a wetsuit which was really helpful although probably not even necessary. Arturo’s knowledge of the cenotes, formations and history was fascinating and he made the trip very enjoyable. Lunch at the restaurant on site was also delicious and very authentic. It was a truly wonderful experience and I can’t recommend this company and specific tour more!!
Jennifer –
Arturo was an amazing guide! We had a wonderful private tour of the Dos Ojos cenote, with lunch and transportation to and from our hotel. Our guide was knowledgeable, and fun to be around. Highly recommend!
Dave P –
Best private tour in my life. Amazing hosts, safe feeling, and immersion into the unexpected magical waters of Dos Ojos Cenote.
Ekim –
Arturo and Rodrigo were great! Very patient with us in the waters especially since I am a little scared of water. Life vests were always on so nothing to worry about. Very fun tour with snorkeling and even visiting bat cave! Highly recommend!
Detrich –
My wife and I had a wonderful experience on our tour. Claire and team were great. They picked us up at the hotel and made some great recommendations for which cenotes to visit. The tour itself was great because we got there early and pretty much had the place to ourselves. Lunch was also amazing. Overall I highly recommend this tour.
Julia N –
What a FABULOUS experience. I recommend Absolute Adventure to anyone who is interested in a private and unforgettable experience. We did the Dos Ojos tour, Arturo was INCREDIBLE! So knowledgeable and friendly, he quickly became our friend! 10/10 recommend this company, this cenote, and Arturo/Rodrigo!!! See my full review on Yelp

I recommend booking early morning, we were the only ones there and got the cenote all to ourselves! Amazing experience! Chris, our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of Tulum and cenotes.

For being swiss, we like be everthing trustworthy and pro organized – it is our culture. Adventure tours I give you a 10. It was a GREAT experience with Daniele and Gregorio. Pick up on time, professional bus with all equipment for schnokel, having a neopren dress and all needed equipment prepared. We rent an aquacam which was totaly worth it to have some below water pictures and video.
The experience was impressive. Need to see what nature is able to create. Together with a pro tour guide (Absolute adventure tours) it can not fail to have a good time..
Gailen F –
First and foremost, Claire, our tour guide, was a gem! She spoke great English and was very inviting. Secondly, go early! We left at 8am and missed the crown altogether! We were the only ones in both eyes
(ojos!¡) and the bat cave. Without her a guide, we wouldn’t have been allowed in many unique areas within the adventure! She was very helpful getting pictures taken for us as well. (I tried to upload our air jump picture into the clear blue water but it wouldn’t let me). The lunch after the swimming was really good and had some unique and local Mayan artisan souvenirs as well. PAY THE EXTRA FOR THIS PRIVATE TOUR- YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!! We are two female travelers and felt very comfortable at all times!!
Megan O –
This was a great experience. Our tour guides were awesome. The views and water were unbelievable. The lunch included will not disappoint soooooo delicious. I was happy our tour guide had lunch with us. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Elli –
Manuel our guide and Pasquale our driver showed us such a wonderful half-day visiting three cenotes. On the drive we discussed what we were looking for, and Manuel tailored the day for us perfectly, taking us to some of the most special places with a real consciousness and respect for the history and sacredness of the cenotes, which felt educational and also correct. Manuel was knowledgeable and flexible and attentive, and we felt the real benefit of doing this kind of tour through a small company, versus the big “eco-adventure” outfits that were camped out at our resort. We laughed, we experienced awe, we learned a LOT, and we ended the morning with a lunch, including a solid off-the-menu recommendation from Manuel which was delicious. Would highly recommend.
Kayla A –
Daniele and Rodrigo were fantastic! Daniele was incredibly knowledgable and had a great personality. He made sure we were safe, had a good time, and enjoyed our lunch as well. Making our way through the 2nd Eye of the cenote was my favorite part. Everything from the bat cave to how clear the water was to a nice cold Model with lunch made this experience all the more wonderful. I would do it all over again!
Janinah –
This tour was magnificent! Dulcet was a great guide and I so enjoyed the beautiful cenotes and delicious lunch. Dulcet was very knowledgeable about the cenotes and very attentive! The driver guy was wonderful too and took lots of photos for us.
