Tour Dos Ojos Cenote: Discover Both Eyes, the Bat Cave & More!
Get ready for an unforgettable experience with our private tour of Dos Ojos cenote—a magical place near Tulum, famous for its crystal-clear waters and incredible underground world. This snorkeling tour lets you explore both "eyes" of the cenote, swim through the largest underground river system in Mexico, and enjoy a peaceful jungle lunch away from the crowds.
Dos Ojos isn’t just popular among travelers—it’s also a Hollywood favorite! This cenote has been featured in the IMAX film “Journey Into Amazing Caves”, the movie “The Cave”, and the BBC’s Planet Earth series. When you snorkel here, you're entering a world so unique it has captured the imagination of filmmakers and scientists alike.
Explore Both Eyes of the Dos Ojos Cenote
The name “Dos Ojos” means “two eyes” in Spanish, referring to the two circular sinkholes visible from above. Each eye offers a unique snorkeling experience. On our tour, you'll visit both:
The first eye is filled with natural light and shallow areas, perfect for beginners and children. You'll admire dramatic limestone formations and see the light rays dance underwater. The second eye is darker, more mysterious, and includes areas with stunning stalactites and stalagmites. This part of the cenote is deeper and more dramatic, ideal for snorkelers looking for a more immersive cave experience.
Visit the Hidden Bat Cave
One of the most exciting highlights of this Dos Ojos cenote tour is the Bat Cave. This hidden chamber is only accessible with a certified guide and reached by a short swim through narrow passages filled with ancient stalactites. Inside, you'll find a large dome where bats rest during the day, hanging quietly from the cave ceiling. However, please note that during the rainy season, the water level in the cenote may rise significantly. This can make the passage to the Bat Cave inaccessible or unsafe to cross.
Enjoy a Traditional Mexican Lunch
After your underwater journey, we’ll take you to a family-run restaurant nestled in the jungle. A delicious Mexican lunch will be served, freshly prepared with local ingredients and traditional recipes. It’s the perfect moment to relax, chat with your guide, and relive the best parts of your Dos Ojos adventure surrounded by nature.
Top-Quality Snorkeling Gear for Adults and Kids
We provide everything you need for an easy and enjoyable snorkeling session. You'll receive high-quality masks, snorkels, wetsuits, life vests, and waterproof flashlights. For families, we also offer children’s gear, including small wetsuits, kid-sized life vests, and small snorkel-masks. This makes the tour safe and fun for children as young as 4 or 5 years old, as long as they are comfortable in the water and know how to swim.

The Tour was Absolutely Amazing! A MUST DO IN TULUM!
Juan the tour guide was beyond what we expected of a tour guide. Patient with us as we learned how to use the equipment and he made the experience lovely. He made us feel like family. The tour through the Bat Cave was spectacular! Pascual the driver was very attentive too. Hands down one of the best tours we have ever had. -

My wife and I went just yesterday to Dos Ojos with Claire and her driver Juan Manuel. They were super friendly, informative, and excellent at guiding us through the Cenotes. We were about to have the entire Cenote to ourselves which was extremely special and intimate. After we left, there were so many people there which wouldn’t have been nearly is great.

Manu and our driver were very accommodating and friendly. The actual snorkeling was amazing. We had incredible views and felt at ease. Our guide explained the Cenotes and what to expect while we were snorkeling. He also took many pictures of us and gave those to us to cherish. The lunch was phenomenal! We ate authentic Mayan food, beer, and had a tequila shot too! This private tour was exactly as expected, amazing!

We are regular AI resort travelers, and have always been hesitant about leaving the resort because we enjoy our time there so much! This time we decided to take a chance and book a private cenote snorkeling tour. Although we had to wake up pretty early, we were glad we wouldn’t be away from the resort all day long! Juan picked us up from our resort, again we were kind of nervous because we always stay within the confines of the resort! I’m so glad we went! Juan was hilarious, very informative, and made us feel safe. We literally had both cenotes to ourselves! It was crazy swimming into this underground cave filled with bats, with a stranger! We rented their underwater camera and Juan took some great shots of us. We swam awhile and then stopped for a Mexican lunch that was delicious. We had a great time, and made memories we won’t soon forget. I’m already looking at their other tours for our return trip. Don’t hesitate to book now!

This was such an amazing tour and a highlight of our trip to Mexico in November. Arturo was our guide and he was so informative in regards to the cenote and many other things in Mexico! We were picked up on time and took the short journey to Dos Ojos where we were alone with no other tourist…

I highly recommend this tour! First of all, it’s a private tour which means you’re not sitting on a crowded bus surrounded by heaps of other people. Once you’ve gone private, there’s no going back. Instead of feeling rushed, our tour guides encouraged us to take it easy and relax and move from each activity totally at our own pace. There was no set time frame for us to get home, it was whatever we wanted – it was amazing! We were picked up on time and entertained for the entire day – our guides were so awesome, my stomach hurt from laughing. Our guides set the pickup time for 7am so we could get to Cenote Dos Ojos before a million other people, and it was so worth it to have that beautiful cenote all to ourselves for a while! Our guides took amazing underwater photos for us and were happy to chase us around with our GoPro the whole time. We were determined to get one particular photo and must have dived down 10 times until we got the shot – and there was our guide, totally committed to taking the photo for us (what a legend). There are two cenotes to explore at Dos Ojos, and we even had time to squeeze in a third cenote. We jumped from high platforms into cenotes, snorkelled with the fishes, swam into the bat cave and were surrounded by a million bats (you can’t enter this cave without a guide), had an amazing lunch onsite and did shots of tequila. Dos Ojos itself is so beautiful – just google it and it’s exactly like that in real life. I can’t thank our guides enough for making this day so memorable for us. They were so personable and friendly. The company provides wetsuits, snorkels and lifejackets, if needed. I suggest just wearing your swimmers all day and bringing a towel and flip flops. Don’t forget an underwater camera or GoPro!

Shout out to Hector and Pasqual ! Did the private three Cenote tour. The guides made us have an amazing time and the tour was totally private! Hector took pictures and let us pick what we wanted to do. Best part was he never rushed us and let us pick where we wanted to go and leave. The Cenotes were beautiful and not crowded! Would recommend the tour and the guides!

Juan was excellent. Very attentive to our needs. Made all of us feel comfortable and worry free. He made sure our whole group was taken care of the whole time. He’s very personable and funny. Has a good personality. We never felt rushed. I saw other guides with other groups and they did not seem to be as personable or attentive as Juan. If you can book him, recommend it. Their tour guide company is the best we’ve been with as well. They try and get you places when there are the fewest people around, so you’re never felt crowded…. very important.

It was exceptional, our amazing guide Chris was knowledgeable and fun. The early start was worth it as we were one of the few people in the water.Iit was beyond beautiful with crystal clear water and amazing stalactites and stalagmites formations. We swam through the Dos Ojos cave equipped with masks, snorkels, lights and life jackets. The guide was friendly and informative. The water is cool (part of the largest cave system in the world) and the guide takes time to show and tell so I was glad wet suits were included. The equipment was of good quality.

Totally impressed by Dos Ojos! Such a natural wonder. I went to a few Cenotes on my trips to Mexico and this was by far my favorite. The contrast between the covered and uncovered sides made this a one of a kind place. The entire trip was well planned and included a private van and driver for the day. Thank you Chris for this beautiful day.

We booked the Dos Ojos tour. It is well worth a visit! The cenotes were gorgeous, the water clear as a bell, and our guide Juan was fantastic! The snorkeling was great. They provided wet suites, it doesn’t feel cold but after you’ve been in a while you could definitely catch a chill. The snorkeling was fantastic, before the crowds getting in. Make sure you visit!

Excellent trip snorkeling and Cenote excursion with Chris. The five of us had a great time, great cenotes / locations, plus great photo’s done. Thanks again.

It was exceptional, our amazing guide Chris was knowledgeable and fun. The early start was worth it as we were one of the few people in the water.Iit was beyond beautiful with crystal clear water and amazing stalactites and stalagmites formations. We finished it all off with lunch at a local Mayan restaurant which was delicious.

We swam through the Dos Ojos cave equipped with masks, snorkels, lights and life jackets. The guide was friendly and informative. The water is cool (part of the largest cave system in the world) and the guide takes time to show and tell so I was glad wet suits were included. The equipment was of good quality.

We set out for our first cenote tour with Juan as a guide and it was a wonderful experience. The booking, transportation, and overall customer service experience were great.Highly recommend.

This was the only cenote we visited but we thought it was stunning. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area. We were happy to get there early! Thank you Absolute Adventure!
