Get ready for an unforgettable experience with our private tour of Dos Ojos cenote—a magical place near Tulum, famous for its crystal-clear waters and incredible underground world. This snorkeling tour lets you explore both "eyes" of the cenote, swim through the largest underground river system in Mexico, and enjoy a peaceful jungle lunch away from the crowds.
Dos Ojos isn’t just popular among travelers—it’s also a Hollywood favorite! This cenote has been featured in the IMAX film “Journey Into Amazing Caves”, the movie “The Cave”, and the BBC’s Planet Earth series. When you snorkel here, you're entering a world so unique it has captured the imagination of filmmakers and scientists alike.
The name “Dos Ojos” means “two eyes” in Spanish, referring to the two circular sinkholes visible from above. Each eye offers a unique snorkeling experience. On our tour, you'll visit both:
The first eye is filled with natural light and shallow areas, perfect for beginners and children. You'll admire dramatic limestone formations and see the light rays dance underwater. The second eye is darker, more mysterious, and includes areas with stunning stalactites and stalagmites. This part of the cenote is deeper and more dramatic, ideal for snorkelers looking for a more immersive cave experience.
One of the most exciting highlights of this Dos Ojos cenote tour is the Bat Cave. This hidden chamber is only accessible with a certified guide and reached by a short swim through narrow passages filled with ancient stalactites. Inside, you'll find a large dome where bats rest during the day, hanging quietly from the cave ceiling. However, please note that during the rainy season, the water level in the cenote may rise significantly. This can make the passage to the Bat Cave inaccessible or unsafe to cross.
After your underwater journey, we’ll take you to a family-run restaurant nestled in the jungle. A delicious Mexican lunch will be served, freshly prepared with local ingredients and traditional recipes. It’s the perfect moment to relax, chat with your guide, and relive the best parts of your Dos Ojos adventure surrounded by nature.
We provide everything you need for an easy and enjoyable snorkeling session. You'll receive high-quality masks, snorkels, wetsuits, life vests, and waterproof flashlights. For families, we also offer children’s gear, including small wetsuits, kid-sized life vests, and small snorkel-masks. This makes the tour safe and fun for children as young as 4 or 5 years old, as long as they are comfortable in the water and know how to swim.
Our private Dos Ojos cenote tour is designed to give you a smooth, safe, and personalized experience. We include everything: private round-trip transportation from your hotel, early arrival to avoid crowds, all entrance fees, and a certified guide who stays with your group throughout the day. You'll explore areas not accessible to regular visitors, like the Bat Cave, and have full control over your pace and comfort. This is an all-inclusive experience where every detail is taken care of—from top-grade snorkeling equipment to a peaceful jungle lunch. You don’t need to bring anything but your swimsuit and a sense of wonder.

BEST TOUR COMPANY IN TULUM! Our tour guide is very professional. He was on time on picking us up from our hotel. He made sure that we’re ready for the day, offering things that we would need if we didnt already have them. He was very knowledgeable about the place and answered all our questions, even the silly ones. And lastly, the lunch spot the tour package had included was a true Authentic Mexican Cuisine. It was very fulfilling, and delicious. We would definitely book another tour with the company again.
Kayla –

Dos Ojos Cenote with Alex and Carlos. Carlos was very professional and drove very well. Alex gave us a history lesson on the Mayan people and the cenotes on the ride down. He is very knowledgeable and speaks very fluent English. We toured three cenotes, the first had a lot of cool vegetation and the water in the second one looked royal blue. In the third we went deep into the caves and it was totally amazing. This is the opportunity of a life time and like nothing else we have ever done. Wow! Then once we finished and changed clothes we had the Mayan lunch with Alex. The food is great and I recommend the fish or shrimp tacos! We were gone for over 6 hours and when we returned to Playa del Carmen we both crashed and took a nap. If you are visiting the area, this is a must and going with Alex and Absolute Adventure on a private tour is the only way to do it! Alex is the best tour guide by far!

The 2 most important things I look for from any tour service operators are high value experience and trust…
That was exactly what my wife and I experienced when we did our Dos Ojos Cenote Private Tour with Absolute Adventure Mexico…and more
The quality of service started with pre-planning when the company took the time & courtesy to reply in details all questions I had. We were then picked up/dropped off safely by Omar the driver. The whole trip was then delivered to us in almost custom-tailored experience by Alex our tour guide. He was not only very knowledgeable of the Mayan cultures and history, but he acted almost like a brother who truly wanted us to have a great time and ensured we were safe and had fun…and we did.
We will certainly book them again for any future excursions. Great job guys!
