See Tulum ruins without the crowds
Your private transport will pick you up early to beat the crowds and heat at Tulum Ruins. It’s one of the most famous Mayan sites with incredible views overlooking the blue Caribbean Sea. You’ll visit all the top structures and temples with your own English-speaking archaeological guide. Look forward to taking photos and enjoying the experience ahead of the daily crowds.
Kaan Luum Lagoon
Just 10 miles inland from Tulum is the serene Kaan Luum Lagoon. Surrounded by lush rainforest vegetation the aquamarine waters are truly breathtaking.
The picturesque Laguna Kaan Luum is actually a shallow lagoon with gorgeous turquoise waters. There is a deep cenote in the middle (the source of the fresh water) marked by an area of darker water. The shoreline has a sandy bottom and the fresh water is mostly knee to shoulder depth, although the deep center of the cenote is off-limits for swimming.
Relax beneath the shady palapa or walk along the pier and jump into the lagoon for a swim. We’ll provide floating airbeds so you can just chill out and enjoy the calm waters. It’s beautiful!
Cenote experience and Lunch in Tulum!
The final part of this amazing Kaan Luum Tour is a stop at Cenote Corazon. Look down into the crystal clear waters to see amazing rock formations as you snorkel and swim.
Once your refreshing cenote swim is over, you’ll be ready for lunch and drinks at a typical Mexican restaurant in Tulum center.

Itinerary is based on a departure from Playa del Carmen.
Pick up time is recommended time to avoid the crowds. We can leave later if you want to.
What to bring
- Resusable water bottle: at Tulum Ruins, it is forbidden to enter the ruins with plastic water bottles. If you wish to bring water for the visit, please bring your own reusable water bottle. We’ll have water in the van for you to fill or refill.
- Beach Towels
- Swimsuit (We recommend wearing it in the morning and feel free to change after snorkeling activities)
- Comfortable shoes for the ruins (We recommend tennis shoes)
- Flip flops or sandals for water activities (Water shoes are optional but can be worn for added comfort)
- Hat and sunglasses
- Sunscreen and we recommend wearing a rash-guard/UV-Shirt for water activities*
- Mosquito repellent*
- Cash (for tour payment, tips, souvenirs…)
- Camera/Underwater camera/Waterproof case for your phone
- Ruins: In case you bring a go pro camera, a video camera or a phone with a selfie stick, there is a 50 pesos (less than 3USD) per device charged at the entrance of each archeological site, to be paid in pesos (INAH tax) – Drones and Tripods for video/cameras are forbidden.
* It is forbidden to apply sunblock and repellent before swimming or snorkeling activities to prevent water pollution in the cenotes and preserve the lagoon, even if they are biodegradable products. Compliance with this rule is essential for the protection of the environment.
You can bring personal belongings you require during the tour (phone, camera, extra set of clothes…). While you are visiting or snorkeling you can leave the things you don’t need in the van. Our driver will always be in the van, so keeping your things safe!

This trip was amazing with one of the best tour guides in the business “JJ” and his driver “Omar”! He got us to the Mayan Ruins before all the crowds and gave us the most in depth tour with a vast knowledge of the Mayan culture and history! We then went for a swim in a Lagoon and a cenote where he was there with us the whole step of the way! We then had a wonderful lunch in Akumal! What an excursion it was!
