Hands down the best way to see and experience Chichen Itza. Our tour guide Arturo and our driver Rodrigo picked our group of 11 up very early. They gave us options for bathrooms and rest stops with snacks along the way. Upon arrival to Chichen Itza Arturo gave us our tickets and we were able to leave all our things in the bus as the driver stayed with our belongings the whole time. This was very helpful as it was a hot day and carrying extra things would have been a lot.
Arturo was an amazing tour guide he is trained not only in archaeology but has a past of his own of being an architect so his insight he gives to the ancient ruins is unmatched. He kept us on time and in the shade as much as possible. A couple people on our group had some overheating issues and he was very accommodating.
After our tour around the ruins we went to the Oxman cenote. It was absolutely stunning. There is a rope swing and a jumping platform. Arturo was kind enough to take group pictures from the top to keep our phones from getting wet.
Our group was very hungry after Chichen Itza and the tour provided snacks and drinks. Arturo with his experience knew the restaurant sometimes takes awhile for large group orders so we picked our lunch before the cenote and he called it in ahead of time. By the time we arrived at the restaurant we maybe waited 10 minutes to be eating as a group. We had authentic mayan cuisine that was delicious and also part of the tour price.
Outside of tipping and drinks at the restaurant the total tour price included our entrances to Chichen Itza and the cenote, lunch, transport, and all the knowledge and guidance from the tour guide.
Would 10/10 recommend this company for the Chichen Itza and cenote trip. I cannot speak to the other tours, but if the communication and the service is the same I can assure you will have the BEST time and it was worth every penny!

Our family—three generations, ages 78, 47, 44, 12, and 9—had a wonderful experience on the Chichén Itzá + Cenote + Valladolid tour with guide Joshua and driver Omar. We opted for a private tour to accommodate the different needs of our group. There was an additional fee since we were departing from Cancún rather than Playa del Carmen, where the company is based—but it was well worth it to go with Absolute Adventure Mexico. Joshua and Omar were well prepared and excellent with our group—engaging, informative, and respectful of our pace and freedom to explore. Be sure to grab a drink from the cooler in the van before entering the Chichén Itzá site. The stops were well timed and flexible, and the driving felt very safe. At Paladar del Cura, I recommend the Cochinita Pibil (Yucatán-style barbecued pork with tacos on the side)—a delicious local specialty. We waited to order dessert until we reached Valladolid so the kids could enjoy ice cream at La Michoacana. We had a choice of two cenotes and chose Oxmán for its rope swing and jumping platforms—this was a hit with our group! Bring a waterproof phone pouch for great photos inside the cenote. Our older traveler chose not to descend the 73 steps to the water and was warmly welcomed to wait with Joshua, where he continued learning about the area’s history and enjoyed photographing the cenote from above. Sunscreen isn’t allowed in the cenote to help protect it, but it’s shady inside, so you won’t need it. Everyone wears life jackets in the water. Thank you, Joshua, Omar, and Absolute Adventure Mexico, for the unforgettable memories and a great tour!

Great trip! The guide Alex was friendly and informative, and Chichen Itza & Valladolid were both beautiful! Would recommend.

The hubs and I used Absolute Adventure Mexico for a private tour to Chichen Itza, Cenote Samula, and for a vegetarian lunch in Valledolid. Our private tour guide, Josh, was polite, friendly, and very educated on the places we visited. Our driver, Kike, was also polite, and did well to ensure we didn’t feel car sick. All in all, excellent service! We would definitely recommend and use the company again! 😊👍🏼

Excellent service, knowledgeable and friendly guide, we really enjoyed the experience!!

The Best
This tour was one of the best we’ve done in Mexico. Having a private tours offers so many benefits especially when traveling with younger children (4 years old.) You have the ability to do more or less depending on how it’s going. They stop for restroom breaks, etc. We even wanted a specific souvenir and our tour guide, Arturo, made sure we got it. He helped guide us when we were bargaining with vendors and even took us to a Cenote that was incredibly peaceful- no crowds. Shortly after we left the crowds descended and we were so grateful to get to experience it away from everyone else. Lunch was excellent as well! Our driver was superb. We would book a tour with this company and Arturo any time and you should too.

Excellent experience
The tour was outstanding, every location was expertly discussed. The sights were absolutely must see and the tour delivered.

Unforgettable Experience with the Best Guide in Cancún! Our trip to Cancún wouldn’t have been the same without our incredible tour guide, Cristina! Rodrigo ur driver, was great. From the moment we met, they were friendly, and knowledgeable. They went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt safe, comfortable, and truly immersed in the experience.
Robyn –
Christina was an absolute joy of a tour guide for Chichén Itzá. Informative & great conversation about archeological topics as well as Mexican culture in general. Highly recommend. Rodrigo was our driver and also was fantastic. There are a lot of tour companies to pick from in Cancun, don’t look anywhere else but here.
Jason –
Well worth the extra cost. Our tour guide Alex and our driver Rodrigo were amazing. Picked us up at our Cancun hotel promptly at 6AM. We arrived at Chichen Itza 15 minutes before opening, so we were one of the first people through the gate. We were able to take our family photos without the annoyance of waiting in line or having strangers in the background of our pictures. The cenote was amazing. We had the place to ourselves so family photos were only of our family without strangers lurking in the background. Lunch at Valladolid was authentic and ala carte(not a buffet). I cannot stress the benefits of a private tour enough. We were back at our hotel before 6PM. I’ve always believed that time is worth more than money and this tour was time well spent without the inconvenience of having to adjust to strangers’ idiosyncrasies or make multiple unnecessary stops to drop off/pick up other tour patrons. This was, hands down, the best part of our Cancun trip.
Kaetlyn –
This day trip was incredible! Arturo was a phenomenal guide. He was informative, shared his personal favorites along the tour, and explained each historical site at Chichen Itza. The cenote was magical and afterwards we had authentic food in the nearby town. It was the perfect day and we were transported safely. I would definitely recommend using this company for your next trip! Thank you so much!

We booked two tours through Absolute Adventure Mexico and had an amazing time on each! The first tour was the Chichen Itza Ruins and Swim in a Cenote tour. Our tour guide Alex was great, very informative and fun. The second tour was Snorkeling in 3 Cenotes with tour guide Cris. Cris was friendly and ensured we had a great time in each cenote. Our driver was Omar for each tour, Omar did a great job getting us around Mexico, the van was roomy and comfortable. Overall, the company was timely and professional, each stop was well planned, and the lunch stops were delicious. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking to book a tour in the Tulum/Cancun area!
