Cris and Ro were amazing! Great experience and tour!

  2. Dustin

Great people to have for a guide. She was great. Chris and Ro. Was an incredible experience and would recommend this to many who want to swim in caves.

  3. Claire

I had the most incredible experience with Cristina and Rodrigo for a cenote tour in Tulum. I have been wanting to go to a cenote for nearly a decade, and I’m so glad I booked with Absolute. Cristina was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly — and an expert with our 9-person group. The cenote was surreal, and I cannot recommend Cristina, Rodrigo, and Absolute Adventure more. Muchas gracias!

    Sac AtĂşn Private Tour
Our group of nine was picked up on time at 9am at our Airbnb by our wonderful driver Rodrigo and our vivacious and knowledgeable guide Christina. The van was equipped with cervezas (at an additional charge available at time of booking), water, soda, juice, and napkins. We drove 40 minutes from the hotel district area in Tulum, 10 minutes on a well maintained dirt road. Life vests, snorkeling equipment and a flashlight were provided. The cenote water was cool. Most of our group was comfortable in a swimsuit. I elected to wear a wetsuit (also provided) and was very happy with my decision. My boyfriend was in a swimsuit and got a little cold at the end of the swim. The cave was full of the cutest fruit bats and we had plenty of opportunities to view them up close! It was one of the highlights of the tour for me. This tour was spectacular, unique, and stunningly beautiful! Christina is passionate about what she does and is a truly wonderful person who speaks English fluently. She is also an excellent photographer!!! We spent around two hours in the water and loved every minute! We only saw one other group the entire time we were there. After the tour we went to Juanita’s Restaurant for lunch, where food was included and drinks were available for purchase. If you have the time do not hesitate to book this! The highlight of our trip so far <3

  5. Emmanuel

No reason to be scared of Pet Cemetery Cenote
Wow what a great tour and Tour Guide (Juan, possibly the best guide ever!) We took advice and went early and we had private transportation and the Tour Guide was with us so boom the tour started right then at 8:30am. Local information, well informed and super attentive. There wasn’t anyone at the Cenote, we were allowed to take our time, very informative an beautiful. I can’t imagine Pet Cemetery Cenote being any better. Lunch afterward was also very very good.

  9. PJ

We really enjoyed this tour and loved Alex! He made the tour amazing and we are so thankful he was our guide. From pick up to the the cenote to the restaurant we went to, it was all perfect!

  10. Jeff

Arturo’s guiding us in the pet Cemetery adventure was awesome! Such a great trip. Highly recommended!!

  11. Sofia

Amazing experience! Highly recommend to all.

  12. Victoria

Had a blast exploring the Pet Cemetery Cenoté with Juan! He was such a fun guide and made this excursion so much fun! Super knowledgeable, funny, and gave us plenty of time for photo ops and exploring! Also, shout out to Enrique for being a great, nice, and safe driver during our trip! Would 100% book again!

  13. MG

Arturo was great! I’ve used this company before for a cenote tour and scheduled them for Sac Actun. Once again, the company was fantastic. We enjoyed the tour and highly recommend them!

  14. Michelle

Wonderful experience! Arturo and Carlos did an amazing job getting us to the most beautiful cenote. Arturo provided a lot of education and history lessons along the way and is clearly very well traveled and knowledgeable about many things.
I would absolutely recommend this tour and I will be back to plan another tour with this company again. I come often so I’m excited to have found them!

  15. Olivier

    Magical swimming experience
We went for a tour in a Cenote with Arturo, our guide, who was a very charming and friendly person.
The Pet Cemetery Cenote was just a magical experience, swimming in a maze like cave system, leading to spectacular “rooms” with draperies, stalactites and stalagmites.
Arturo brought us to some surreal locations with no daylight at all.
    The organization was impeccable.

  16. Jon

Amazing Day at Pet Cemetery Cave Snorkeling with Kids. We spent an amazing day with Arturo and Joshua as our guides through Pet Cemetery/Sac Actun. The cenote was far more beautiful and amazing than the online pictures show – the best of the four cenotes we visited while in Tulum. Arturo was wonderful with our boys (13 and 9), the youngest of which wasn’t thrilled by the idea of cave snorkeling. But Arturo took time with him and made him feel so comfortable – our youngest ended up loving every minute of the tour. We were so happy Arturo and Joshua (who was training to be a guide and will also be amazing) joined us so we could learn more about them, the company, and the area.
We couldn’t recommend this company or our tour guides any more. We did three tours with Absolute Adventure while in Tulum and loved all three – each was well worth the time and money. From Rodrigo our driver, to our tour guides, and all the way through to Claire and Cyrille the owners – this is the company to use! Stop your search!

  17. Kelly

The Most Incredible Day! Do not Hesitate to book with Absolute Adventure Mexico.

  18. Victoria

Amazing day with Juan to Pet cemetery today. It was just amazing. highly recommend.

  19. Bill

Hector, our guide, and Willie, our driver were so kind to us. And Hector was a fountain of knowledge, not just about cenotes, but also about Mayan/Mexican history and a bunch of other random things we had questions about.
We chose Sac Actun (Pet Cemetery) cenote. Sac Actun was breathtaking (the pictures online don’t even do it justice), and the cave system was big enough that any other visitors were barely noticeable. Lots of bats among the stalactites, and crystal clear blue water.

  20. bkck

Wonderful experience! Chris was an excellent guide. Would recommend this tour. Went to Pet Cemetery senote, which was breath taking. We stopped and ate at a small restaurant. The food was fantastic. Thank you Chris!

FAQ Cenote Sac Actun Private Tour

Is the Sac Actun - Pet Cemetery Cenote tour private or shared?
This is a private tour, just for you and your group.

You’ll have a dedicated guide and vehicle all to yourselves—no crowds, no waiting, just a smooth and personalized experience.

Is the driver also the guide?
No. The driver and guide are two different professionals. All our tours include a dedicated driver and a separate certified guide.  While some companies offer a guide-driver, we believe this is not safe. Having a driver focused solely on the road and a guide fully dedicated to our guests ensures a safer and higher-quality experience.
How long does a private Cenote tour take?
Please check the full itinerary in the “Itinerary” tab for more details.

It typically lasts between 3 to 5 hours, depending on your hotel location and how much time you’d like to spend at each site.

Is transportation included from my hotel or Airbnb?

Yes, round-trip transportation is included from Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras, Akumal and Tulum. We’ll pick you up right from your hotel, resort, or Airbnb for a stress-free start to your day.

What vehicles do you use for your tours?

We offer a range of modern, air-conditioned vans to suit the size of your group and ensure a safe and comfortable journey.

Visit our fleet page for more details.

Yes, you’re welcome to choose your preferred pick-up time when booking.

That said, we recommend an early morning start to help you beat the crowds, skip the traffic, and enjoy cooler temperatures—it really makes a difference!

For added safety, life vests are mandatory for all participants.

Plus, our professional guides are always by your side to make sure you feel comfortable and enjoy your experience at your own pace.

Everything is arranged to ensure you have a safe, stress-free, and unforgettable adventure.

Is snorkeling experience required for this tour?

No previous snorkeling experience is required, but basic swimming skills are necessary.

We provide mandatory life vests, and our guide ensures a safe and comfortable experience for everyone.

Are cenotes cold? Are they easy to access?

No, cenotes aren’t too cold—they stay at a refreshing 75–79°F (24–26°C) year-round, which is perfect for a swim.

Most cenotes have easy access with platforms and just a few steps to get in and out comfortably.

Do we have to wear wetsuits?

No, wetsuits are not mandatory. Only life vests are required for safety.

We do provide wetsuits if you would like extra comfort, especially if you find the water chilly. Wearing a wetsuit can also help you stay in the water longer without getting cold.

Are there showers or changing rooms at the cenotes?

Yes. Facilities include clean showers, restrooms, and changing areas.
