    The name “Dos Ojos” means “two eyes” in Spanish, referring to the two circular sinkholes visible from above. Each eye offers a unique snorkeling experience. On our tour, you'll visit both:

    The first eye is filled with natural light and shallow areas, perfect for beginners and children. You'll admire dramatic limestone formations and see the light rays dance underwater. The second eye is darker, more mysterious, and includes areas with stunning stalactites and stalagmites. This part of the cenote is deeper and more dramatic, ideal for snorkelers looking for a more immersive cave experience.

    One of the most exciting highlights of this Dos Ojos cenote tour is the Bat Cave. This hidden chamber is only accessible with a certified guide and reached by a short swim through narrow passages filled with ancient stalactites. However, please note that during the rainy season, the water level in the cenote may rise significantly. This can make the passage to the Bat Cave inaccessible or unsafe to cross.

Wonderful private Dos Ojos Cenote Tour for the family!
My family (two adults and 14 yo teenagers) had a great private Dos Ojos Cenote private tour with Arturo. The driver (Grigorio - not sure of the spelling) was also very pleasant and courteous. The pick up from the hotel was seamless and drive to Dos Ojos was smooth. Wet suits, snorkel gear, flashlights, etc were all provided. Arturo did a wonderful job explaining how cenotes were formed and was patient and friendly throughout the experience. The bat cave was really fascinating! The only thing that wasn't outstanding was the included lunch that was at the end of the tour - the restaurant is the one that is on the Dos Ojos Cenote property, and while the waitress and staff were super friendly and attentive, the food itself was bland and juices watered down. Overall, I recommend this particular tour and if I get a chance to head back to the Yucatan area, I'd defo reach out to Absolute Adventure Mexico for some other cenote excursions!

We were fortunate enough to see/be shown all of the amazing sights . From the booking to the end of the tour, this was a first-class experience! Claire coordinated the tour, including pick-up (at a location that was not on the drop-down menu), and regular communication via text. The driver arrived as scheduled, along with our guide, Arturo. Throughout the tour, Arturo shared his knowledge and was patient with our family of seven. He made sure to check in with each person individually throughout the tour to make sure that we were all having the best experience. Is the Dos Ojos Cenote tour private or shared?

This is a private tour, just for you and your group.

You’ll have a dedicated guide and vehicle all to yourselves—no crowds, no waiting, just a smooth and personalized experience.

Is the driver also the guide?

No. The driver and guide are two different professionals.

All our tours include a dedicated driver and a separate certified guide. 

While some companies offer a guide-driver, we believe this is not safe. Having a driver focused solely on the road and a guide fully dedicated to our guests ensures a safer and higher-quality experience.

How long does a private Dos Ojos Cenote tour take?

It typically lasts between 3 to 5 hours, depending on your hotel location and how much time you’d like to spend at each site. 

Pickup & transport

Is transportation included from my hotel or Airbnb?

Yes, round-trip transportation is included from Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras, Akumal and Tulum. We’ll pick you up right from your hotel, resort, or Airbnb for a stress-free start to your day.

Please note: we don’t offer pick up from Cancun Playa Mujeres hotels unless your group has 6 or more adults.

What vehicles do you use for your tours?

We offer a range of modern, air-conditioned vans to suit the size of your group and ensure a safe and comfortable journey.

Can I change the pick up time?

Yes, you’re welcome to choose your preferred pick-up time when booking.

That said, we recommend an early morning start to help you beat the crowds, skip the traffic, and enjoy cooler temperatures—it really makes a difference!

Is swimming in cenotes safe?

Absolutely! Swimming in cenotes is very safe.

Cenotes are known for their calm, shallow, and crystal-clear waters, perfect for a relaxed swim.

For added safety, life vests are mandatory for all participants.

Plus, our professional guides are always by your side to make sure you feel comfortable and enjoy your experience at your own pace.

Everything is arranged to ensure you have a safe, stress-free, and unforgettable adventure.

Is snorkeling experience required for this tour?

No previous snorkeling experience is required, but basic swimming skills are necessary.

We provide mandatory life vests, and our guide ensures a safe and comfortable experience for everyone.

Are cenotes cold? Are they easy to access?

No, cenotes aren’t too cold—they stay at a refreshing 75–79°F (24–26°C) year-round, which is perfect for a swim.

Most cenotes have easy access with platforms and just a few steps to get in and out comfortably.

Do we have to wear wetsuits?

No, wetsuits are not mandatory. Only life vests are required for safety.

We do provide wetsuits if you would like extra comfort, especially if you find the water chilly. Wearing a wetsuit can also help you stay in the water longer without getting cold.

Are there showers or changing rooms at the cenotes?

Yes. Facilities include clean showers, restrooms, and changing areas.

Be sure to bring the essentials: swimwear, a towel, and flip-flops/sandals.

You can safely leave your belongings in the van—our driver stays with it the entire time while you're out enjoying the activities.

Are vegetarian or special dietary meals available?

Yes, we’re happy to accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary needs or allergies.

What is the cancellation policy?
